MILLWORK SERVICES
As a family owned and operated local company, we at Superior Hardwoods take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Superior Hardwoods creates many custom moulding profiles from domestic hardwoods, softwoods or exotic species. We can craft custom corbels, custom sized S4S, countertops, paneling, plaques, stair parts and custom flooring. We also offer woodworking services such as sanding, planning, re-sawing, glue-ups, and more. We have an array of standard products to choose from, but can create custom profiles and products with ease.
Our millwork shop is equipped with commercial sized equipment, including a moulder, jointer, planer, sander, rip saw, shapers, and a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machine. Our experienced craftsmen use these large machines to help make your next project absolutely spectacular. We are capable of adapting and finishing any millwork piece or project you have in mind. All our architectural millwork packages are quoted based on the scope of work indicated by our customers. WOODWORKING PROJECT SERVICES
All our millwork services are estimated based on the scope of work indicated by our customer. If you have a smaller scale project we are also interested in helping you achieve your smaller goals as well. We are continuously processing a variety of woodworking projects. Sometimes a customer needs us to sand a counter or table top blank. Other times customers want us to cut all their sheet goods to size for them. From glue-ups to sanding and cutting to planning or jointing, we offer a wide range of woodworking services for both commercial and residential projects.
Our general shop labor rate is $150.00 per hour with a minimum of $37.50. For our 36″ wide belt sander our hourly rate is $240.00 with a $45.00 minimum charge, and our CNC computer time is $75.00 per hours and the cutting rate is $150.00 per hour. CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) Machine

Our CNC Router has the capability of cutting out all shapes and sizes, carving letters or numbers is also among a few of the things it can accomplish. The bed holds up to a 4’ X 8’ sheet of plywood or laminated piece to give you a variety of sizes to choose for your sign or décor piece.
Sanding

Our wide belt sander can accommodate most any hardwood or softwood sanding needs. With large capacity setup it can sand wood up to 5″ thick and up to 36″ wide.
Planing

Our spiral-head planer can accommodate hard- or soft-wood up to 8″ thick and 24″ wide. From one board to multiple units we can meet your planing needs (no green wood and no nails or staples, please).
Jointing
$37.50 MIN
Our 16” wood jointer can face a board up to 16”wide. This is a great benefit for those who must have true flat and square lumber.
Ripsaw

Our laser ripsaw accommodates hard- or soft-woods up to 3-1/2″ thick and 11-1/2″ wide. No job is too large or too small. Straight line rip one edge or gang rip. We can grade and cut out any defects or sap.
Resaw

With a 6″ blade and tilting bed, our resaw equipment accommodates most any hard- or soft-wood up to 4-1/2″ thick and 14-1/2″ wide. From standard straight cuts to beveled side, we can meet your needs.
Kiln Drying
$1.50/BF
Our on-site kiln can hold up to 3000 board feet of lumber and we kiln dry all of our local Alaskan Birch right here. Normal drying times vary depending on the thickness of the wood and range from 3-5 weeks for 1” thick lumber pieces up to 6-8 weeks for 2” or thicker lumber pieces.
